Beach Resort Vacations - 3 Great Choices
Are you looking for a great beach resort?
If you're planning a beach vacation and you're trying to find the perfect place to go, you've come to the right place.
I hope you're looking for something more like Fantasy Island than Survivor because there are plenty of beautiful tropical resorts where you can find fun and find romance at a reasonable price.
We're going to take a look at beach resorts that are in the United States. So put on your "slippahs", grab your swimsuit, and let's stroll along and find a great beach resort vacation for you - one where you won't even need a passport.
Hawaii Beach Resorts
You can't go wrong choosing Hawaii. The major islands are filled with beautiful beach resorts. During the day the temperature usually hovers between the mid 70s and upper 80s throughout the year. And the gentle trade winds are so refreshing that many homes don't even have air conditioning.
- The most affordable vacation choices can be found in Waikiki, in the heart of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu. There are plenty of restaurants and activities along Waikiki Beach, the best known beach in the world.
- Although a bit more expensive, Maui is totally outrageous. You'll probably want to stay in Kaanapli and you will definitely want to visit Hana on the other side of the island. Hana is often referred to as "Heavenly Hana". You can drive there along the Hana HIghway, which is actually a narrow two lane road high up over the splashing surf. It's many twists and turns take you by waterfalls, tropical flowers and exotic birds. When you go to Hana you feel like you've stepped back in time.
- The north shore of Kauai is also beautiful. Although there are fewer activities, it's natural beauty will certainly overwhelm you. Many movies where shot along these exotic shores.
- If you go to the Big Island, the island of Hawaii, you will probably want to stay in Kona. There are plenty of activities to enjoy along its sun-drenched shores.
Florida Beach Resorts
Since Florida is a peninsula, it is surrounded by water on three sides. There are great vacation spots up and down the coastline and, because the year-round weather is balmy, it makes for the perfect getaway.
- Some of the more popular vacation desinations in Florida include Ft. Laudeardale, Miami Beach and Palm Beach.
- If you go all the way down the Coast you'll get to The Keys and will enjoy Islamorada, Key West and Key Largo, among others.
- Lesser known, but still delightful vacation destinations include Clearwater, Cocoa Beach and Venice Beach.
Florida boasts clear, blue-green water, a laid back attitude and soft sandy beaches. It makes for a great place to slip off your shoes and relax.
Delaware Beach Resorts
Most people don't think of Delaware as a beach vacation destination. Yet...
- Reader's Digest named Rehoboth Beach, Delaware's most popular beach, as having the "Best Boardwalk in America". And the AARP voted Rehoboth Beach as being one of the "Top Places to Retire".
- Although Delaware is the second smallest state, it is the home of tax-free shopping.
- Dewey Beach is just a couple of minutes away from Rehoboth and is really popular with college kids on their summer breaks.
- If you go "down the shore" you'll find Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island.
If you live in the northeast, you will want to check out these beach resorts because they're only a two hour drive from Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C. You could even stay a day or two in Delaware on your way down to Florida.
